While here at the Venetian Gardens, I see the beauty that surrounds me. I hear the birds chirping and feel the wind blowing. But with every breeze, with every sound, there is peace and tranquility. People fishing, family’s going on a stroll, Christmas decorations already up and the water that is calm and refreshing. The sun is out and there are clear blue skies. I get the sense that right here, right now, God is in this place. This moment is amazing and I would not trade it for anything else.
If you look, there are historic land marks that are on the ground. Stones with writing by Martin Luther King. He is by far one of my favorites because of how strongly he felt about this nation and his people. He was a family man and very passionate about equality and standing on truth. More than anything else, he was a Christian and a believer that God loves us all and is for us not against us. Through the speeches he gave, you can hear his hearts cry for unity to be restored and for us as a nation to return back to sanity.
Underneath all that is the path that leads to freedom. Jesus is the only way. John 14:6 says, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Martin Luther King knew that we only have one life and we ought to live it in love not judging or belittling anyone. So when you get the chance to do something good, do it. When you get the chance to come alongside someone and pray with them or comfort in anyway they need it, do it. Don’t pass by someone who needs you. Love them where they are at and be there to show them the way that leads to Jesus, that is where our home is and where our hearts live and beat. Be in unity with the spirit and you will never go wrong.
